Heart Closing Linked

Our concept for this week’s assignment is that under the background of COVID-19 around the world. Many families and lovers are separated and forced to stay in 2 different countries or cities. I have a feeling that when living alone, we are more likely to be dominated by the sense of loneliness, which will reduce our interaction with society, as well as having a negative impact on our work, health, and study. While the fact is that we are never fighting alone. So we build these two hearts.

The first one is the receiving one, and the second one is the sending one. The idea here is that when your hands are getting closer to the sending one, the shape of the heart on the receiving one in another city along with the loved one will be more complete. In this way, we can have a feeling that wherever we go, the ones we love are always holding our backs and we never fight alone. These2 hearts should be in one set, making the owner both able to send and receive love.

Even if the pandemic situation ends, it’s still a nice decoration for those people who cannot gather around in-person very regularly.

The working mechanism for the receiving one is that it uses an 8*8 LED system to demonstrate the shape of a heart. And it will receive the data sent from the ultrasonic sensor on another heart. The data will be sent to the computer and then be transferred through the Internet.
