Diptych Concept
- I think the two parts of the photodiptych should be the two different aspects of a particular theme. In this regard, the two pictures should have something in common, or have a logical order of existence, or have a sharp contrast. For the project, I want to use the same elements in two pictures but are placed in a different order and layout in order to show the two aspect of my particular theme: the new combinations of obselete things.
- One of the picture is shot by the camera in the origin. It would be the base of the project, upon which are other elements from the second picture based. Because it is shot by the camera and was only modified the colors, it would represent something realistic and objective. Another picture would be the rearrangement to the first picture, and it would be subjective yet appealling and creative. The combination of the photos would effectively show the imagination and concept of mine.
- I plan to shoot a common set-up consisted of old-styled things for the first picture, such as a old paintings, old flowers, old filming curtains, old gramaphone, and etc. In this case, a concrete and realistic scene will be covered. For the other pictures, I wang to add more decorations to it. Maybe I will shoot something very appealling and related to the project.
- I plan to radically adjust the color of the first picture so make it seem more old styled. For example, I would make it more yellowish and blurry. For the second picture, I plan to extract some interesting parts of the pictures I will have taken and use different tools such as zooming in/out, morquees, effects and etc.
