My partner during this activity said her salient identity was a: “Napping Enthusiast Liberal Californian” and her technology was a Macbook. When searching up my partner’s salient identity and her chosen technology, I was not able to come up with anything. Therefore I decided to break down my partner’s salient identity from “Napping Enthusiast Liberal Californian” to “Napping Enthusiast” and “Liberal Californian” to give me other options to establish some sort of connection between my partner’s salient identity and the technology.
When I searched up “Liberal Californian” and “Macbook” I came across an article by PC World about how Macbook users are more likely to be liberal. Following that article was one by CNN.com discussed a study of the traits of the “typical” macbook users in comparison to pc users. This study found that Macbook users where seen being more laid back and younger than pc users.
I had also searched “Napping Enthusiast”, but nothing came from it except articles about the sleep mode in the computer. This makes sense because sleep mode is a well known feature of computers, but does not demonstrate an overlap between my partner’s salient identity and the technology of choice.
