In today’s society, I feel that technology can be considered part of one’s identity and that different people will have diverse backgrounds due to the fact that technology is such a large field now. There are different fields of technology that one can claim to their identity (Computer Engineer, Technician, etc.) This is how technology has been able to lead to more diversity, because it has introduced more “labels” that we can attach to our identity and associate with. In addition, most technological advancements were made through collaboration, and diversity flourishes under collaborative circumstances.
However, as we progress more into a more technological age, further diversity is not guaranteed. Diversity is restricted by technologies’ own For all we know, maybe the labels that are out right now will be the same 20 years from now.
