Significance: The CAREER award is NSF’s most prestigious award in support of junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholar through outstanding research, excellent education, and the integration of education and research within the context of the mission of their organizations. Only one award is given in the field of geomechanics each year.

Significance: AMPS Project was selected by NSF Office of Legislative and Public Affairs as one of 15 featured projects (out of approximately 30,000 funded projects) to be part of the NSF exhibit at the Expo on the National Mall, as part of the inaugural USA Science and Engineering Festival, October 23-24, 2010. An estimated 250,000 visitors viewed the Festival.

Significance: This award is the civil engineering honor society second highest award. The competition was civil engineering faculty nominated by local chapters in northeastern and mid-Atlantic universities.

Significance: The Distinguished Teacher award is Polytechnic’s highest award for faculty. One Distinguished Teacher award is presented at commencement each year. Jacobs Excellence in Education awards are in recognition of specific educational innovations. Each award includes a $10,000 prize.

Significance: Fellows are elected. It is a prestigious honor held by fewer than 5% of ASCE members .

2011 Outstanding Project Award for Efforts in Sustainability and Media, NSF GK-12 Program
Significance: The AMPS Project was the only project selected by NSF for recognition for its efforts in sustainability and media outreach during the 2011 annual meeting of the GK-12 program.
2014 Ray H. Spiess Award, ASEE
Significance: An annual award given by the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) for the outstanding Computers in Education (CoED) Journal paper. The award includes an $800 prize.
1990 General Dynamics Outstanding Teaching Assistant-Assistant Instructor, The University of Texas at Austin
Significance: The General Dynamics Award was the highest teaching award given to a Teaching Assistant or an Assistant Instructor at The University of Texas at Austin College of Engineering. I was the civil engineering finalist and received special commendation by the award committee.
