Idea 1: Lightsaber
The idea for this project is essentially to create a lightsaber from the movie saga Star Wars. For this kind of project I would want to embed an Arduino in a 3D printed lightsaber hilt and use LEDs to achieve that effect. This project doesn’t really have much meaning, but in general its just something I’ve always wanted to do. I thought I could program the LEDs to do specific things when the hilt is moved and perhaps if I want to elevate it I could use processing to map out object whenever the lightsaber is moved in the hand of the user.
Idea 2: Fluid Art Installation
The idea behind this project is to have motion activated lights that map abstract “fluid” objects onto the screen. The idea would be that the processing screen is never the same (constantly changing) which the user controls. Then LED lights would change with the screen and users could wear headphones where the changes on the processing screen are also heard. The meaning behind the fluidity would describe how peaceful movement can be in a fast pacing world and in a sense would be more art than tec.
Idea 3: Moving statute
For this idea I would like to 3D print out and laser cut some abstract pieces and have them move with servo motors when the user approaches the stature or makes noise near it. It would be inside of a mirrored box with a LED strip inside and an iPad at the base so I can connect processing to it and when the screen changes, its contents are projected through the mirror box.
