My idea for an imagined library has changed.
Throughout our lives we are constantly surrounded by people that we care about and even individuals that we detest, my library would contain books that document other people’s perception of us. Every individual would have a book dedicated to themselves, and within it, it would tell the stories of our interactions with others, but from the point of view of those others. Their first impressions, the best memories, what comes to mind when they think of us, the sights, the smells, relatively anything that they associate with us in their memory, that book would contain.
It would also contain flaws they think we have, interactions with people that we don’t necessarily like, all those moments would be documented. I think we spent so much time trying to decipher how other people perceive us, what they’re thinking, and whether or not they like us. Although in essence this library could be detrimental to many relationships, I think it would be fascinating to know how people see us.
