Vinegar is a secondary fermentation of alcohol. and the character has a radical which represents an alcohol container. Overall the character looks and sounds alot similar to 酷 but I imagine is as just two bottles sitting side by side. One containing alcohol and the other vinegar.
The left part looks like the face you would make when you taste vinegar because it’s so sour. The right part looks like another version of that face. So it basically shows two reactions to the vinegar.

also the left part is similar same as 错. Just a different radical I guess.
I can remember the left part bc it’s in both vinegar and sour, and the right part is the same as in 错 which has a similar pronunciation
