The middle section of the character quite closely resembles the radical for eye 目, except with an extra line in between. This to me can be read as representing an additional eye, or as is common in some circles, to speak of one’s “third eye.” Opening one’s third eye is considered to be a step towards understanding higher truths, similar to how 真 represents how things REALLY are.

The top part looks like a head with one hair standing up, the middle is a big wide-open eye, and the bottom two strokes look like hands open.

This character looks like someone is standing with their feet apart and hands out, like they are jumping out in disbelief to say “really?!”
Gloria Tsang says
it looks like a woman blocking the entrance with her hands on her hips, demanding an answer… REALLY?
Gloria Tsang says
slightly irrelevant but it reminds me of the closet from the Beauty and the Beast
Kathryn Yep says
Reminds me of an old Chinese emperor’s hat and the bottom two lines are the emperor’s eyebrows
Clara Parker Luce says
all of the lines remind me of how you would text someone “realllllllly?”
