This course explores the intersection of technology, sustainability, and the arts, helping students create digital art and interactive works that may respond to the local NYC biosphere or remote environmental data. Through an investigation of sustainable computing, environmental data analysis, and fabrication techniques, students will design low-power, networked devices that gather and interpret environmental information for creative applications. Through hands-on projects, students will develop skills in conceptual thinking, computational design, and creative problem-solving across multiple modes of expression.
