The finished product
This short video is the final result of a super intensive sound and video class. It is the first time I have had the opportunity to circle between all aspects of the process from scripts through storyboards and finally filming, editing even graphics.
I had a blast working on this because although the objective was to introduce us to various tools it still felt like a creative process which I find myself craving these past few months.
this was a collaborative effort and I feel I was really lucky being a part of this group. Lydia, David and August represent everything that is exciting about ITP; totally different backgrounds, skills and interests coming together the fact that they are funny, interesting and talented was icing on the cake.
In the process we all wanted to experience all aspects of making the infomercial, each of us editing scenes for the rough cut.For the finished product (for continuity reasons) we divided the work between us each taking responsibility for a different aspect of the end result.
I worked on graphics for the slides that we wanted to serve as a cut between the different products presented in the infomercial. we decided to use the esthetic of classic infomercial graphics. This esthetic that is so familiar is the result of a practical informative approach but in a weird way like B movies have a kinky beauty about them.
Initially I was testing different looks based on the same esthetic but eventually the team and I decided to go closer to the original because we thought in the context it would have a stronger effect.
These are four slides we made for the two different products the third having the “right man” being the product, also serving as the end of the video and an option to transition to out takes and the last for credits(and fun).
I hope you enjoy our love-finding infomercial, “MOR – A – MOR“.
I had a blast.
