About

I am a doctoral student in the Communicative Sciences and Disorders department at New York University under the advisement of Dr. Sudha Arunachalam in the LEARN lab. My research examines how children learn languages and what factors support the learning process. I am interested in exploring language learning and language development in young children with and without disorders.

I am also part of the Small Talk Lab, working with Dr. Christina Reuterskiöld on a project investigating the development of past tense counterfactual sentences. We looked at how elicitation methods affect children’s production of counterfactual sentences.

Prior to joining NYU, I received my M.A. degree in Linguistics and Cognitive Sciences at the University of Delaware and a B.A. degree in English from Beijing International Studies University(China).

Please see my CV or contact me at hs3035@nyu.edu for more information.
