Researchers win NSF ECO-CBET to study greenhouse gas mitigation
Researchers at NYU and the University of Michigan recently won a collaborative grant from the National Science Foundation. The team includes the laboratories of Prof. Tianning Diao in NYU Chemistry, Prof. Mark Kushner at the University of Michigan, and Ryan L. Hartman in NYU Tandon. Their research focus will be on greenhouse gas mitigation using plasmas with organometallic catalysis. Plasmas impact our lives everyday, with common examples being lightning generated during a storm or the Sun. Though 99% of the universe is thought to be plasmas, their implementation into the chemicals industry to perform organic synthesis is in its infancy.
