In assigned groups, discus materials and create a response, add to your journals.
Be prepared to discuss in class.

Week 2: Review homework and discuss Idle Threat • Emergency Preparedness (classroom, home, daily life) Lecture: The Water We Drink Questions and Answers with guest speaker: George Pakenham, Idle Threat NYC activist producer Assignments: Read “Unseen“ • explore trailer links and concepts at Susan Steingraber’s website. Groups create a post and include stills and video.
Week 3: Review homework discuss assignments and takeaways to date. Lecture: The Food We Eat Assignments: Read A Valuable Reputation Reuters article on Monsanto Watch The Age of Aluminum Note: there is partial female nudity at specific time segments of the film.
Create a post that includes still photos of the label from any food or cosmetic product in your home that contains an aluminum compound. Try to focus on the ingredient in the photo. Also include the number of pieces of aluminum cookware in your kitchen.

Prepare for a visit from David and Denise Holland watch the videos on their page including the one from RT. Decoding the Weather (which you have already seen) is on that page as David Holland is in it. For those of you who are interested in going deeper, there is a longer format presentation on that page. All other videos are less than ten minutes.
In teams of two, develop questions to ask. Write a post on the Holland’s presentation for the following week. Including possible solutions.
