I am a Speech Scientist and Linguist currently pursuing my doctorate in the Department of Communicative Sciences and Disorders at New York University and under the advisement of Dr. Tara McAllister. I am also currently employed in Dr. McAllister’s Biofeedback Intervention Technology for Speech (BITS) Lab investigating technology-enhanced speech intervention strategies. My research interests include investigating the acoustic correlates of gender perception in transgender voice and investigating the predictors of treatment response for the remediation of /r/ misarticulation using ultrasound biofeedback. I am additionally interested in statistics, data analysis, research methodology, and experiment design.
I previously earned my Master of Science degree in Linguistics (2017) and my Bachelor of Arts degree with Distinction in Linguistics and Psychology (2013) from the University of Alberta. Under the advisement of Dr. Benjamin V. Tucker and Dr. Juhani Järvikivi, my Master’s project investigated the processing of emotion in spoken word recognition.
