The Application
Admission to GSTEM is competitive, and decisions are based on the strength of your high school academic work, your essays, your STEM activities, and your recommendation. Our application window is only 30 days. Don’t miss the March 1 deadline!
Required documents for consideration
- NYU University Program’s Online Application
- An official, cumulative and up-to-date high school transcript(s) starting with Grade 9. Transcripts must include your grades from Fall 2025 and a listing of your classes for Spring 2026.
- 4 essays
- Letter of recommendation from a teacher, advisor, or counselor
Important Dates & Deadlines
- February 1st – Application Opens
- March 1st – Application Closes
- Applications must be submitted by March 1, 2026 at 11:59pm (applicant’s local time)
- Plan ahead! Confirm with your recommender well before the March 1 deadline. We allow a short grace period for recommendation letters to be received but your application is considered incomplete until then.
- Plan ahead! You must include a complete transcript(s) starting with Grade 9 up through, and including, your grades from Grade 11 in Fall 2025. A list of your Spring 2026 classes is required as well.
Applications will not be reviewed for admission until all documents are received.
Documents such as essays and transcripts should be uploaded to the NYU Online Application. However, schools may also email transcripts to admissions.docs@nyu.edu or mail them to this address:

All recommendation letters must be submitted through the NYU Online Application.
NYU has recently instated a $50 application fee. A fee waiver is easily available and we strongly encourage anyone in need to request one. Instructions will be included at the end of your application.
