CURATORIAL & PUBLICATIONS FELLOW

About the Position:
Socrates Sculpture Park is seeking a graduate student in Art History, Arts Administration, or Curatorial Studies with an interest in contemporary art for the position of Curatorial & Publications Fellow. The Fellow will be responsible for project management of the 2018 spring exhibition publication and distribution. The Fellow will gain experience in catalogue management and commissioning new work while working closely with the Curatorial and Production staff.
Responsibilities:
–Obtain, color correct, caption and secure reproduction rights for images
–Liaise with authors, editor, designer, printer, and channels for distribution
–Compile an artist bibliography and chronology
–Edit exhibition interpretive materials
–Assist with exhibition events, exhibition production management, and some administrative tasks as need arises
Qualifications:
–Graduate student in Art History, Arts Administration, or Curatorial Studies
–Knowledge of and interest in contemporary art
–Strong organizational, research, and project management skills
–Attention to detail
–Microsoft Office suite, Photoshop, InDesign
Work Hours & Schedule:
Flexible schedule, April – July 2018. Average 5-8 hours per week. Office hours: 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Some work hours may be performed off-site. Fellows will meet with the Director of Exhibitions at least once a week. A few evening and weekend events are required.
Compensation:
The fellowship offers a flat $2,000 stipend.
