Job Title: Program Assistant 

Job Status: Part-time, 18 hours a week, 9am-3pm MWF in-person option of WFH 10% of the time (about 1 day a month)

Salary:$22 (Hourly)


This is a part-time position of 18 hours per week on Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9am-3pm in person with the option to work from home 10% of the time (about 1 day a month). This position reports to the Director of Education and Community Engagement and oversees teaching artists and art therapists facilitating art and healing programs.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a part-time program assistant to work with the Director of Education & Community Engagement on implementing onsite programs and overseeing our offsite/onsite arts and healing programs.

Responsibilities of the program’s assistant include:

  • With the Director of Education, going on site visits and creating program systems, structures and evaluation tools for art and healing programs
  • Work with the VACNJ Director of Education to manage all hired art therapists/teaching artists for arts and healing programs
  • Check in on arts and healing programs consistently and manage evaluation data input
  • Participating in the hiring process of art therapists and teaching artists 
  • Updating offsite programs calendar
  • Keeping inventory and organizing program supply cabinets
  • Assist with set-up/clean-up of studios during onsite program days

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks
  • 1-2 years’ experience working in non-profit or arts education
  • B.A. in Education, Art, Art History, Museum Education or a B.S. in Public Health is preferred but not required

Compensation: Part-time, $22/hr for 18 hours a week, 9am-3pm MWF in-person option of WFH 10% of the time (about 1 day a month)

Physical and Mental Demands

The position frequently requires mental demands of reading/writing, planning/organizing, and interpreting data. The position requires frequent use of computer, telephone and copier. This position requires the ability to frequently stand, sit, walk, squat, and climb stairs. These positions occasionally require the ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.

Work Environment

The position is frequently indoors in an office & studio environment. This position allows flexibility for up to 10% of time working from home with supervisor approval.
