Position Overview:
The Individual Giving Manager is a key part of LMCC’s Institutional Advancement team with the primary responsibility of managing / coordinating our annual gala, individual giving campaigns, and individual donor cultivation communications and events. The Individual Giving Manager will also work closely with LMCC’s President and the Director of Development on all administrative aspects pertaining to LMCC’s Board of Directors, acting as a main point of contact to the Board, coordinating committees and preparation for Board meetings.
This is an ideal position for an individual with a passion for arts and culture. The candidate must be an enthusiastic, organized, proactive, and reliable team player with a desire to be a supporting member of a small fundraising team. The candidate must be an exceptional writer, quick learner, creative thinker, and team player; detail-oriented and deadline sensitive.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following areas:
Gala / Cultivation Event Management:
● Manages the production timeline and serves as main contact for all internal and outside vendors, including a production manager, and venue management;
● Manages correspondence with honorees and talent leading up to the event date and liaisons with production manager and ensures production needs are met;
● Monitors the event budget and generates regular financial reports for event leadership;
● Oversees the creation of printed / digital materials in collaboration with the Marketing team, including the invitation, program, and other assets;
● Oversees invitation mailing and the creation of mailing lists;
● Oversees the set-up and management of the ticketing platform;
● Ensures accurate data processing of ticket responses and contributions;
● Drafts solicitations letters and manages Board solicitation lists;
● Manages the guest list and coordinates the event seating plan;
● Works with the venue management on event catering and menu selection;
● Works with the production manager, developing event run of show and effectively communicating plan and updates to all stakeholders;
● Works with the Director of Development to plan and facilitate a Paddle Raise and Benefit Auction;
● Creates and oversees the front of house and check-in process, including selecting appropriate tools and training event staff teams and volunteers;
● Processes payments for tickets, pledges, and auction bids;
● Manages thank you letter process.
Donor Appeal Campaign Management:
● Creates, maintains and updates an annual Moves Management system for individual donor cultivation and solicitation:
● Conceives and implements email campaigns for individual and Board donors, including the annual calendar and fiscal-year-end appeal campaigns:
o Assists in developing the mailing theme, language, and design;
o Creates and maintains solicitation lists;
o Tracks giving and communicates directly with donors to facilitate payment;
o Tracks income and expenses for all campaigns;
● Processes all contributed individual income on a weekly basis;
● Prepares and sends donation acknowledgement letters;
● Reconciles income with the Finance and Operations department on a regular basis;
● Conducts research on prospective and current supporters;
● Coordinates donor cultivation events.
Board Management:
● Facilitates communication with LMCC’s Board of Directors, including scheduling committee meetings, all sub-committee and task force meetings, and Board meetings.
● Creates agendas and information packets for Board meetings and other meetings, as needed;
● Coordinates all logistics for Board meetings and receptions;
● Attends all Board meetings and takes minutes;
● Maintains all filing and mailing systems for the Board of Directors;
● Assists in matters pertaining to Board compliance such as Conflict of Interest forms, special votes for authorization, annual elections/ballots;
● Prepares packets for new Board members and other packages related to Board cultivation as needed.
Required Qualifications:
EDUCATION
● Bachelor’s Degree required
EXPERIENCE
● 2 – 4 years of experience in nonprofit administration and fundraising
EQUIPMENT / COMPUTER SOFTWARE
● Required: Salesforce, Asana, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
● Excellent organizational and written skills. Excellent time management, task prioritization, and efficiency. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate professionally, effectively, and discreetly with donors and colleagues. Specific experience in database management, financial reporting, correspondence, and contact management is a plus. Ability to multi-task and stay focused, with keen attention to detail.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
● Will co-manage a Development department intern.
Working Conditions:
● Hybrid work schedule, with a minimum of three (3) days in person. Potential evening, weekend, and early morning meetings and evening functions as required.
