Description:  

The Program Coordinator, Historical Performance is responsible for the operations of the Historical Performance office and managing the Historical Performance instrument collection. This position works closely with the Director, Administrative Director, Director of Performance Operations, faculty, students, and guest artists. This position is also the main point of contact for guest artists, and provides administrative support to faculty, students, classes, performances, and other events as needed. 

This is a fully in-person position, and the annual salary for this role is $59,000-$63,000.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Historical Performance instrument collection – maintain database, coordinate sign-outs/returns, maintenance/repair, and acquisitions. 
  • Oversee Historical Performance instrument loans in compliance with Juilliard procedures and policies.
  • Coordinate Historical Performance secondary lessons from application process to onboarding for accepted secondary students.
  • Coordinate schedules, documentation and contracts for guest lecturers and be the primary liaison with Accounts Payable, HR, and Payroll as needed. Work with Administrative Director and Office of International Advisement as needed to gather and track necessary visa documents for international guest performers and teachers  
  • Prepare payment and payroll requests for departmental activities. Maintain ledger for departmental spending and account tracking,   
  • Occasional production support for rehearsals, performances and tours, as needed 
  • Oversee facilities-related needs and provide support for room reservations, allocation, and access, and classroom technology support 
  • Assist in the development of departmental season planning, especially faculty studio classes, masterclasses and coordinating special projects, including alternative emergency planning and procedures. 
  • Assigned other related duties, as needed. 

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • At least two years of related work experience 
  • Extraordinary attention to detail, with excellent organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including students, faculty and guests 
  • Ability to work on many projects concurrently
  • Ability to read music fluently
  • Experience as an ensemble performer and/or with ensemble operations and management 
  • Experience in a performing arts or conservatory environment
  • Ability to address student issues with tact and discretion both in person and by email
  • Availability for occasional weekend and evening work; willingness to undertake occasional domestic and international travel

 

Preferred Background:

  • Interest in early music
  • Experience using ASIMUT or other scheduling software
