GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
As the Temple of Dendur and the Great Hall have become frequent destination event spaces, the Department of Egyptian Art needs administrative support to manage the use of these spaces for special events and projects. You are an experienced administrator and project manager who will primarily support the Senior Collections Manager in managing all requests to use these spaces and all the Egyptian Art galleries. You will assist in all event productions, such as benefits, galas, performances, film shoots, etc., coordinate with many Met departments, and document these events for the department’s records.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Review and discuss all gallery use proposals with the Department Technicians, the Senior Collections Manager, and event producers across the Museum
- Provide up-to-date event information to the Technicians including floor plans, production schedules, and write-ups
- Coordinate with MMA event producers to streamline production, communicate questions and feedback from the Department Head, Senior Collections Manager, and/or Technicians, and relay any issues during the load-in and setup
- Coordinate the production schedule for the Department Technicians for the Met Gala or other large multi-day productions as needed
- Provide in-person oversight of production for the Met Gala and other events, as needed
- Record outside research requests in TMS
- Enter all events and requests to the department into a general log for yearly statistics
- Assume the core duties of the Associate Administrator when she is out of the office
- Digitize departmental records and integrate them into our digital filing system
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated administrative and organizational skills and strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders
- Excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite and experience with, or willingness to learn, TMS
COMPENSATION RANGE:
- Pay Rate : $33.00 – $34.00/Hourly

The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, education, special licensing or qualifications, and other factors.
Location Requirements
At time of employment, employees are expected to be located within commuting distance of the Museum. “Commuting distance” means that they are located in one of following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Pennsylvania (the “Tri-state and PA” areas), and be able to commute to and from the Museum in a single day.
