Internship Opportunity for Undergraduate and Graduate Students at the Museum of Jewish Heritage

Job Title: Internship

Description:

We are currently seeking applications for the Spring 2023 semester to participate in the Holocaust Educator School Partnership internship at the Museum of Jewish Heritage. As part of the internship, interns are trained to teach the history of the Holocaust in the Museum’s galleries as well as in a classroom setting. Following an eight-day intensive training in January, interns will work with students in partnering middle and high schools around the five boroughs of New York City to teach this history in schools and in the Museum. Interns are paid for each tour and classroom presentation throughout the semester and are reimbursed for local travel.

This is an exciting opportunity for students interested in teaching in Museums, as well as those interested in teaching in middle school, high school, or university contexts. Many interns go on to consider professional careers in related areas following their participation. For students interested in exploring careers in museum education, this internship provides incredible opportunities to learn and practice strategies for object-focused gallery teaching, preparing students to work as museum educators, in museums focusing on history as well as others, following their participation.

Applications are due on November 17, 2023 at 3 PM Eastern. The application, with instructions to complete all steps, may be found here: https://mjhnyc.wufoo.com/forms/m1uhdgy00w9kxpt/.
