Summer 2023 Internship Program at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum
We are currently accepting applications for the Summer 2023 Internship Program. The Guggenheim’s eight-week Summer Internship Program offers part-time paid internships. The program begins Monday, June 5, and ends on Friday, July 28. Summer internships are hybrid, with interns working both on-site and remotely. The program includes direct work experience, professional development, and networking opportunities. The Guggenheim is dedicated to creating pathways that lead to a more inclusive and diverse institution, and we encourage students from diverse disciplinary and cultural backgrounds to apply. Eligible candidates must be current students and have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies.
The paid Guggenheim Museum Internship Program provides practical training to current undergraduate and graduate students interested in pursuing careers in the arts and museum fields. Interns are assigned to departments based on their academic background, professional skills, interests, and goals. Under the supervision of designated staff members, interns work both independently and collaboratively with their departments to gain comprehensive experience through immersive projects. In addition, interns are required to participate in Museum Culture Seminars. These weekly meetings are used to develop transferrable skills, such as public speaking and writing, as well as to create an intentional space for interns to build a sense of community. The seminars are designed to help students acquire the necessary training to advance their career goals as well as network with leading practitioners in the museum field.
