Overview

LMI is seeking an Education Technologist/Specialist at our headquarters office in McLean, VA. This position will support NASA’s workforce experience activities for students grades K-16 with a STEM focus.

Responsibilities

  • Support a career learning/workforce development internship program to engage students, educators, and faculty, with a special emphasis on recruitment to those from underrepresented and underserved groups.
  • Support student-authored and independently conceived graduate research proposals.
  • Support and assist in the use of NASA-provided online application and registration system for NASA internships, fellowships, academic, research, professional development opportunities, and other learning experiences.
  • Research government science content and educational best practices around identified themes or missions to support professional training, STEM engagement, citizen science, engineering design challenges, and virtual learning opportunities.
  • Adhere to government STEM curriculum development guidelines including beta testing and the use of focus groups to optimize content prior to release.
  • Provide design and delivery of curriculum, guides, lesson plans, support materials and professional development for formal and informal learning communities.
  • Expand the reach of educational projects and content by scaffolding and demonstrating research-based effective practices in the delivery of STEM content, presentations, and programming.
  • Develop tests, questionnaires, and procedures that measure the effectiveness of curricula, and use these tools to determine whether program objectives are being met.

 

Qualifications

  • B.A. or B.S. degree
  • 5 years of work experience
  • Ability to develop a variety of written and presentation-based work products and deliverables
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment
  • Ability to travel to and work on client sites as needed
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and presentation skills
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills
  • Ability to obtain a public trust clearance
