Overview:

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum’s Digital Experience team is currently in search of native French, Italian, and/or German speakers with an arts-background who would be interested in conducting paid quality assurance (QA) work on a flexible schedule throughout the year. The job would entail reading, reviewing, and offering notes on a handful of translated documents and audios pertaining to the museum’s digital guide. This freelance QA position offers a great opportunity for students studying art to gain valuable real-world experience working with a renowned art museum in New York City!

Overview: Review translated audio guide texts and audio track files

Tasks:

A reviewer for this project will do the following:
• Review drafts of translated audio guide scripts against the English to ensure the tone matches, flag any inaccuracies, and flag any areas that may need a museum curator/expert to share further context in case of mis-representation by the translator. For this reason, familiarity with the Guggenheim Museum and contemporary and modern art is preferred.
• Listen to audio guide tracks and flag any issues to be addressed before publication.
• Translate some minor texts as needed.

Dates: Projects will come up sporadically throughout the year.
Rate: $50/hr
Requirements: The reviewer will communicate with the Digital Experience team over email, and will use word processing software with comment features. They will also need to submit a signed contract and W9 form. Payment will be sent via a check in the mail or direct deposit.
