POSITION SUMMARY 

The Communications & Digital Content Manager generates, editorializes, and coordinates content to  promote and clearly communicate ICI’s mission, program and impact, and raise ICI’s profile. Working  closely with all staff, the Communications & Digital Content Manager ensures an integrated  communications profile for ICI’s various platforms – digital newsletters, brochures, social media, and a  newly launched Website – and manages all aspects of public communications and press outreach. This  position reports to the Deputy Director. 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 

  • Develop content strategies to communicate ICI’s mission and impact, including its role in  supporting the work and careers of curators and building international networks; amplify press  generated by ICI’s projects to raise the organization’s profile; and establish an annual marketing  plan to deliver branded messages to audiences over multiple platforms 
  • Provide editorial oversight of ICI’s newly launched Website; writing short and long form text to  contextualize and connect both new and archival content; developing a workplan for managing,  programming, and publishing Website content drafted and produced by staff and collaborators;  providing content-, copy-, line-editing and proofreading support, and ensuring all Website text and  images are up-to-date; and overseeing all general organization and press sections of the site,  making updates in the Website backend 
  • Develop and maintain an editorial calendar for all digital content, including social media, e-blasts,  and Website, communicating deadlines to the staff; oversee ICI’s social media presence on  Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn, collaborating with other staff to produce and publish  daily content promoting ICI and its programs, including the creation of digital assets such as  photos, videos, and motion graphics; draft and disseminate bi-weekly e-blasts and other digital  announcements as needed 
  • Track and report data using analytic tools to increase knowledge of ICI’s audiences and optimize  digital activities with the visitor experience in mind 
  • Develop and maintain a targeted press list for cultivation and communication of upcoming  programs, and circulate press releases 
  • Serve as Communications contact for venues presenting ICI exhibitions and other program  partners, providing press releases, images, and other assets 
  • Work with the Deputy Director to produce the semi-annual brochure of ICI programs, a printed  and digital publication, coordinating with all staff to receive content in a timely manner and work  with editor, designer, printers, shippers 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum three years of office experience in a museum, non-profit, or  other cultural organization 
  • Familiarity with and appreciation of international contemporary visual art and curating and ICI’s  mission 
  • Strong editorial skills and demonstrated knowledge of editorial styles and best practices Proven ability and interest in communications, social media strategy and email marketing Detail-oriented and highly organized, and have the ability to prioritize and efficiently complete  multiple tasks 
  • Self-starter with a proven ability to work well in a team 
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills 
  • Thorough knowledge of Macintosh platforms, Microsoft Office for Mac, database and digital  content management systems, and social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and  Instagram.  
  • Experience with Mailchimp, HTML, Adobe Creative Suite, is a plus.  

Salary and Benefits:  

Starting salary is $60,000. This is an exempt position, and employee benefits include health insurance,  retirement plan, paid vacation, paid holiday and sick time. 

Hours: 

Full time, working hours are Monday – Friday, 10am to 6pm. Applicant should be based in New York by  start date and open to working a hybrid in-office and remote schedule. Occasional evening and weekend  events in New York.
