Role Description

Development Intern will work closely with members of the Development team to help with the Studio Museum’s institutional and individual fundraising efforts. Primary responsibilities include assisting with correspondence and research related to individual giving, conducting research on corporations and foundations, drafting select grant reports and proposals, updating and maintaining records in Raiser’s Edge database and organizing mailings of information to donors and prospects. Previous development, marketing or public relations experience is helpful but not required.  
 
The Development Internship is designed for undergraduate and graduate students and recent graduates interested in careers in Arts Administration, Marketing or related fields. 
 
For the Fall 2021 internship cycle, applicants must either live or attend college in the New York City metropolitan area. 
 
Applicant must provide the following:
 
  • A statement of intent (500 words or fewer) explaining reasons for applying to the program, what you hope to gain from the experience, and how it might enhance your education and career plans.
  • One letter of recommendation from a person who knows you in a professional or academic capacity is required. Recommenders may also email their letter separately to internships@studiomuseum.org by the application deadline.

Internship requires a minimum 14 hours/week, during the work week. The total 14-week internship has a total stipend of $2940 and is entirely remote. Interns are expected to supply their own computer for the duration of the program.
