The Frick Collection – Ayesha Bulchandani Graduate Education Internship, Spring 2020 – Museum Studies

The Education Department of The Frick Collection is now accepting applications from M.A. students for the spring 2020 Ayesha Bulchandani Graduate Internship Program. The intern’s primary responsibilities will include organizing archival education material, researching the history of education programs at the Frick, and assisting with additional research projects, as needed. The intern will also participate in the production of public programs for the Frick’s many audiences, working closely with all members of the Education Department. This internship provides a superb opportunity for students to learn about museum education in a small, dynamic department.

The Ayesha Bulchandani Internship is open to current M.A. students pursuing degrees in museum education, art history, education, museum studies, or other fields related to The Frick Collection. Ideal candidates for this internship will have a background in museum education, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Internship responsibilities will be carried out two days per week during the spring semester. A stipend award of $2,500 is available for Education Interns under the Ayesha Bulchandani Internship Program for Graduate Students.

Background

The Frick Collection is an art museum with a collection of more than 1,100 works of art—dating from the thirteenth to the nineteenth century—displayed in the intimate surroundings of the former home of Henry Clay Frick. The residence, with its furnishings and works of art, has been open to the public since 1935. The Frick Art Reference Library is an internationally recognized research library that serves as one of the world’s most complete resources for the study of Western art.

Internship

Eligibility

Foreign nationals must have an appropriate visa to participate in paid internship placements in the U.S. Applicants are responsible for their own housing and travel arrangements.

Time Commitment

The internship will span one semester in spring 2020. Activities will be carried out no less than two days a week.

Stipend

In addition to the other benefits associated with an internship at The Frick Collection, a stipend intended to help defray living costs during the internship period is available for Education interns under the Ayesha Bulchandani Internship Program for Graduate Students. The stipend award is $2,500.

Please note that applications to multiple departments at The Frick Collection are not accepted; please apply to only one department.

Applications for the Spring 2020 Ayesha Bulchandani Graduate Education Internship will be accepted on a rolling basis until December 2, 2019. Selected candidates will be contacted for interviews and all applicants will be notified in January 2020.
