On Campus Internship Opportunity for Arts Students – NYU Production Lab
The NYU Production Lab is seeking a graduate intern for the 2019 -2020 academic year to support the Experiential Learning Programs for graduate and undergraduate arts students.
The ideal candidate has a very strong interest in developing the careers of future artists and arts administrators, as well as an interest in independent film. They are reliable, creative, entrepreneurial, bold, collaborative, and thoughtful. Additionally, a strong candidate will come with ideas, be comfortable with decision-making in uncertain conditions, and be unafraid to make mistakes. The Lab is seeking students interested in developing skills for eventual careers in the arts and entertainment industry.
This is not your typical internship. It requires the student selected to balance active engagement in career development with the creative development process in indie film. The first half of the year will be focused on the graduate cohort of CCDF students, the Slate Film application process, and coaching undergraduate students in arts & media programs. The second half of the year will focus on executing programming targeting undergraduate arts students, the Slate Film selection process, and career-focused programming for the LabCast student team.
This is not an internship for a student looking to juggle multiple internships during either semester.
We are looking for students who are passionate about the Production Lab and committed to helping us fulfill our mission. The role requires more of a commitment than most on-campus jobs but pays dividends in community, relationship building opportunities, and career development.

CCDF Overview:
Today’s ever-changing content landscape favors artists with entrepreneurial instincts. The Creative Career Design Fellowship is designed to provide a transformative experience to industrious creators in the NYU community, helping them to differentiate themselves from their peers and build sustainable careers.
Rather than developing creative projects, the program instead develops the artist as entrepreneur, giving each fellow actionable strategies to launch their creative careers. Over the course of the fall semester, the small cohort of students will enjoy guest speakers, participate in skill development workshops, and collaborate on creative learning projects.
