Summer 2019 Internship Applications are now open – The Valentine
Since 2006 the Valentine has offered funded summer internships to students interested in working in the museum field. Generously funded by the Kip Kephart Foundation and in memory of Bobby Chandler, Valentine Summer Internships provide 5 students with a $1000 stipend upon the conclusion of their internship. We are currently reviewing applications for students interested in working in the following departments:
Archives
Costumes & Textiles
Museum Education
HR/Finance
Public Relations
In addition, the Valentine will offer an unfunded internship in the General Collections department.
How to apply?
- Review the Valentine Summer Internship FAQ page.
- Review internship descriptions and determine which departments you’d like to work with. You may apply to (up to) 3 different departments. In your application you will be asked to explain your choices.
- Fill out the online application and upload an unofficial transcript, cover letter, resume and a short essay describing Richmond in 3 words.
For first-hand accounts from past interns read about our Summer 2018 intern experiences on our blog.
