Spring 2026 Internships at the South Street Seaport Museum

The South Street Seaport Museum is offering two in-person paid internships for the upcoming Spring 2026 season for those who are interested in gaining more experience in cataloguing, digizing, and preserving archival materials, or want to pursue a career in registration and exhibitions management.

The Intern participates in the daily work of the Department, shadowing and learning to manage projects related to collection stewardship, inventory and imaging, interpretation and digital content creation. In addition to advanced collections management work experience, interns will be offered opportunities for professional development activitiesand they will be provided resources that focus on maritime heritage, New York City history, and the role of museums in society today. 

Internships require a commitment of at least two days per week, 9:30am–4:30pm.

Interns are paid $18/hour on a bi-weekly basis and receive free admission to most NYC museums and employee discounts at the Seaport Museum’s Bowne & Co. Stationers gift shop
College students, graduate students, and recent graduates are eligible.
