Description
The Summer 2025 Collections intern will help with the management of new collections acquisitions and incoming loans for exhibitions, including preparation of checklists, correspondence, and inventories. The intern will learn how to properly house, record, catalogue, and organize collections items. Additionally, they will assist with the museum collections database — The Museum System (TMS) — uploading new images, assisting in standardizing data, and cataloging recent acquisitions. The intern will gain invaluable work experience as part of the daily operations of the Museum’s collections department. The position requires excellent organizational and computer skills and attention to detail. This position is fully on-site.
The summer program will run from Monday, June 9 through Friday, August 15. Interns must be available Wednesdays from 4-5 pm (in-person or virtually) and in-person on Fridays 9 am-3 pm.
The intern in this position will receive an hourly rate of $17.00 for the part-time, 180-hour program.
Qualifications
Intern must be enrolled in an Art History, History, Museum Studies, and/or Studio Program with an interest in museum collections management and registration.
