Join the Curatorial department as an intern on the planning of an upcoming interpretation gallery for Yin Yu Tang: A Chinese Home. Tasks will include research of objects and archives related to the house and/or the Huizhou region, outreach to Greater Boston area schools, communities, and organizations to arrange info sessions and focus group gatherings, data management such as photocopying, scanning, organizing, and filing paper and digital files. The intern is also expected to work with other museum departments, especially when Chinese language assistance is needed. This position will report to the Huang Family Curator of Chinese Art and Culture.

Internship Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s student or recent graduate with a demonstrated interest in art history, history or related fields. Knowledge of Chinese art and culture and familiarity with digital humanities, social media and interactive design are strongly desired. Qualified candidates should be self-motivated, articulate, organized, and willing to assist with a variety of administrative and curatorial tasks related to the project. The best candidate will have experience conducting academic research, be a quicker learner and outside-the-box thinker, and be passionate about public engagement in person and through technologies. Candidates must have native or near-native fluency in English and Chinese in reading, writing, speaking and listening.

The fall internship program runs from 9/12/24 until approximately 12/12/24. Please note, there is a required in person orientation that takes place on Thursday, 9/12/24. This internship provides a stipend of $1500.00 and will require a minimum of 15 hours each week, on site.
