The Position:

The Jewish Museum seeks an energetic, organized, and detail-oriented individual to provide essential support to the Department of Major Gifts, assisting in all aspects of the fundraising journey. The Development Associate provides administrative support to the Director of Major Gifts and assists with tasks related to donor stewardship and cultivation including events, written communication, and portfolio management.

Responsibilities Include:

● Track revenue and expenses for Planned Giving and Major Gifts

● Assist the Director of Major Gifts with acknowledgements for all department incoming gifts; draft all personalized acknowledgement letters and keep bulk acknowledgement letters up to date

● Administer donor benefits, including ensuring donors are on appropriate event lists, facilitating complementary NYJFF tickets, and private tours and events are coordinated as needed

● Manage VIP art fair passes for high level donors

●Provide administrative support for Major Gifts including maintaining Salesforce records and MCloud lists for mailings; filing, photocopying, and ordering supplies

● Act as the departmental liaison for list management, including invitations, catalog mailings, and donor lists

● Assist with prospect research and moving prospects through the pipeline for Major Gifts, prospect ideation for all team members, and membership upgrades through personal outreach

● Manage Development events calendar and run bi-weekly interdepartmental events meeting

●Ideate, plan, coordinate logistics for, and staff a wide range of exclusive donor events including virtual and in-person; requires some evening and weekend hours

Requirements:

●Direct experience, preferably in an art museum or cultural institution

●Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to write and speak in clear and compelling ways

●Strong judgment and the ability to work well both independently and with a team

●  A positive attitude and an entrepreneurial spirit

●Exceptional organizational skills

●Willingness to work occasional weekends and evenings

● Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Salesforce (preferred)

●Experience working with budgets (preferred)
