The Willem de Kooning Foundation is a not-for-profit, artist-endowed foundation whose mission is to foster the study and appreciation of Willem de Kooning’s life and work through research, exhibitions, and educational programs.

The Foundation is offering paid internships to learn about a range of projects through assisting of staff with the organization and development of our research materials, to the processing of information into our database, library and archives, along with other Foundation responsibilities. This is an opportunity to learn about the nature of an artist’s foundation and Willem de Kooning in particular. The internship will begin at the start of Summer 2024 and has the possibility to continue through the Fall semester.

Eligibility: Candidates must be recently graduated from or currently enrolled in a college or university art history or museum studies program. Please use your cover letter to tell us about your experience to date with arts and culture and what you hope to bring to and garner from this role.

Prospective interns must be available to work in person, at least two days per week during the Foundation’s office hours (Monday through Friday, 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM).

Compensation: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour based on education level.

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
