Center for Book Arts seeks an Educational Programs Manager.

Center for Book Arts’ Educational Programs Manager is part of a team of 5 full-time and 3 part-time employees. This position works closely with the Executive Director and Artist Programs Manager as they shape and realize the organization’s calendar of educational workshops and related events. This position manages the Studio & Education Coordinator and a stable of about 50 Artist Instructors plus a small team of interns and volunteers.

Responsibilities

With the Executive Director & Director of Development

  • Develop a sustainable plan for the successful implementation of CBA’s educational programs;
  • Set short and long-term goals for program deliverables;
  • Develop and follow budgets for CBA educational programs;
  • Collaborate to identify areas of potential program growth;
  • Manage the selection processes for new instructors and faculty fellows;
  • Seek to expand CBA’s scholarship program by identifying potential donors.

With Program Staff

  • Manage an annual schedule of workshops and educational programs;
  • Ensure educational programs are reaching the best audience and fulfilling the organization’s financial needs;
  • Hire, negotiate contracts with, supervise, and evaluate instructors;

Other Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, and supervise Volunteer Virtual Workshop Monitors (responsible for monitoring online workshops should a volunteer not be available);
  • Recruit, train, and supervise Education Interns.

Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, people person, with 2-5 years work experience in a nonprofit arts educational position or a related activity. This candidate has excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and has a clear and timely communication style that comes across as warm and welcoming. An interest and background in the book arts is strongly preferred.

The following qualifications are required:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred;
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience;
  • Proficient at hosting programs in zoom;
  • Experience managing a complex calendar of events/workshops;
  • Experience managing budgets;
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel and Word);
  • Ability to work well in a small team.

Excellent written and verbal skills and customer service experience required. A sincere interest in working in a nonprofit educational environment needed.

Time Requirement

  • Full-Time 40 hours/ week
  • While our office is officially open 10-6 Monday-Thursday and 10-5 Friday & Saturday, this position may require occasional evening and weekend work. 
  • Please note that this position is in-person at Center for Book Arts.

Compensation

  • $60,000-65,000 annual;
