Are you a dedicated and detail-oriented individual who is interested in working for the Hispanic Society Museum & Library on a growing Development team?

 

Reporting to the Development Director, the Manager of Individual Giving will partner with colleagues to determine the best strategies for effective solicitation and stewardship of current and prospective donors. The Manager will play a central role in managing the execution of the donor recognition and stewardship,  plan for donors of all levels, helping to ensure that the donor experience fulfills our fundraising strategic plan.  The Manager will work closely with the Head of Special Events and Finance Departments and will be responsible for helping to create and oversee data-driven strategies for annual giving, major individual giving and planned giving.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·        Cultivate and steward new and existing donors

·        Acknowledge donations with appropriate tax letters on a timely basis and maintain appropriate and consistent communication

·        Maintain a strong working knowledge of all aspects of Raiser’s Edge particularly as they pertain to mail/communications, individual and institutional records, and membership

·        Conduct prospect research for capital and programmatic support

·        Assist in the development of individualized cultivation plans

·        Oversee proper acknowledgement of donor gifts by drafting thank-you letters, newsletters, reports, timely touch points and impact reports

·        Record consistently and accurately all donor and prospect interactions as well as donations on Raiser’s Edge

·        Ensure the accuracy and integrity of donor data

·        Liaise with Finance Department to ensure all donation records are maintained accurately 

·        Assist with membership programs, cultivation efforts, and other projects as needed

·        Contribute to organizational success by performing other duties as assigned

·        Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor’s Degree

·        3-5 years’ experience  in development in a nonprofit institution, within a museum or cultural institution preferred

·        Excellent verbal and written skills

·        Ability to develop correspondence for external audiences

·        Knowledge of Spanish preferred

·        Interested in Hispanic art, literature, and culture helpful

 

Technology Skills

·        Experience with Raiser’s Edge required

·        MS Suite
