The Brooklyn Museum seeks a skilled Studio Manager for a grant-funded temporary position through July 31, 2024, with a possibility of extension.

The Studio Manager will be a key member of our growing Engagement division, working with leads across our teams and the Museum as a whole to develop and refine our creative production processes. They will help run projects to engage visitors in new ways; introduce and implement working processes; project manage development of exhibition assets across teams in PR and Comms, Digital, Marketing, and Graphic Design; help lead interdepartmental brainstorms and ideation; support the development of in-person gallery experiences, both analog and digital; and be a key part of managing our work and creating an excellent experience for all audiences.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of six years of relevant experience in a cultural institution or agency, with at least two years working specifically on production and experience-design projects
  • Experience collaborating to produce accessible, engaging content and deliverables for general audiences and incorporating visitor feedback into project designs
  • Experience using Airtable and Notion to manage projects
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and deliver projects on time, in budget, and within scope
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders and maintain/grow relationships
  • Reputation for remaining calm, strategic, and solutions-focused when problems arise
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot and collaborate with affected teams to find solutions for delays or other issues
  • Strong intuition and judgment—always one step ahead and able to make decisions
  • Strong time management and organizational skills along with keen attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines at once

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Chief Marketing and Experience Officer and other Engagement team members to transform processes, introduce experience-design concepts, and manage projects start to finish
  • Create and manage scopes of work, timelines, and budgets, bringing teams to agreement on project plans, production budgets, schedules, deliverables, and risks
  • Guide, support, and advise stakeholders on the benefits and implications of proposed solutions; organize and provide regular updates and communications to project teams
  • Work with stakeholders and teams to create implementation processes and workflows
  • Create, manage, and enhance documentation and project management tools, including Airtable; assist in creating diagrams, flowcharts, presentations, visualizations, etc.
  • Lead creative brainstorms, kick-offs, ongoing meetings, and project debriefs that assess how to increase the efficiency and impact of our tools, systems, and processes
  • Liaise internally and externally to advance content production, technical development, and marketing and promotional needs
  • Track, manage, and reconcile project budgets

Schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 9 am–5 pm
