Pratt Institute’s School of Architecture seeks qualified candidates for the position of Archive and Content Manager within the Dean’s Office. This position will support archiving and communication efforts at the school, key for ongoing accreditation efforts, that will help us better engage with our internal and external communities. The position will be focused on the creation and maintenance of archiving, documentation, and dissemination systems for student and faculty work and will include creating communications materials such as newsletters, website updates, and social media posts as well as supporting the Dean’s Office work on publications, events, and exhibitions – together, contributing to efforts to support and promote student and faculty creative and academic accomplishments.The ideal candidate will possess both professional and academic experience, demonstrate effective and inclusive communication skills, exhibit archiving and excellent multi-platform expertise, and be able to evidence experience with the deployment and management of communication strategies in the fields for which we have programs.

The Pratt Institute School of Architecture (SoA) educates future leaders in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, urban and community planning, construction and facilities management, real estate practice, environmental management, historic preservation, and urban placemaking. We see the design, planning, and management of the built environment as tools for addressing the critical issues of our time—including social justice and the climate crisis. Students at the Pratt SoA build the skills and knowledge needed to respond to these complex and evolving challenges in a uniquely versatile, innovative, and ethical way in an environment of disciplinary, intellectual, and cultural diversity.The School of Architecture is one of the largest in the nation, offering fourteen undergraduate and graduate programs on the design, planning, and management of the built environment in these four departments: Undergraduate Architecture (UA), Graduate Architecture and Urban Design (GAUD) which includes a new Masters in Landscape Architecture program, Graduate Center for Planning and the Environment (GCPE), and Construction Management/FacilitiesManagement which includes the Real Estate Practice program (CM/FM/REP). We currently have four programs that require accreditation.

Position Responsibilities

  • Archive and database management
  • Coordination of digital and physical archival asset collection
  • Coordination of collection of student and faculty success stories
  • Coordination of Social media
  • Support internal and external Communications from the Dean’s Office
  • Support the coordination of the Pratt SoA content team
  • Support Pratt SoA events, exhibitions and publications
  • Work with Institute’s Archiving and Communications team as well as with teams in each department
  • General administrative support (reports, letters, etc.)

SALARY is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. The salary range for this position is $57,800-$63,800. The position will be onsite 5 days/wk.Generous Benefits

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Masters degree preferred.

Experience: 0-3 years related administrative and communications experience, preferably in higher education.

Skills: database management, airtable, google applications, content creation and deployment, social media platforms, adobe creative suite (photoshop, indesign, illustrator at minimum).Must have demonstrated ability to work independently and juggle several complex administrative and logistical tasks simultaneously, as well as have excellent verbal, written, organizational and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to work well with diverse populations; and demonstrated level of cultural competence.
