Salary:  $70,000-$80,000


The Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust seeks a proven grant writer to secure five- and six-figure support from foundations and corporations. The Institutional Giving Manager will write and manage proposals, identify new funders, and support donor engagement. This position will help the Museum obtain funding for a range of projects, including exhibitions, public programs, education programs, capital projects, and general operations. They will join a highly collaborative fundraising team that is deeply committed to the Museum’s mission of Holocaust education and remembrance.  

Responsibilities:

  • Write and submit high-quality grant proposals, LOIs, grant budgets, and reports for foundation and corporate funders
  • Assist the Director of Institutional Giving in developing institutional fundraising strategy to meet department revenue goals
  • Manage grants from proposal submission through award, reporting, and reimbursement (when applicable)
  • Research potential funders and track donor engagement in Altru, the Museum’s CRM
  • Manage the day-to-day administration of the Museum’s corporate membership program, including website updates, creation of promotional materials, and organizing Museum tours
  • Oversee stewardship of a portfolio of institutional donors, including arranging tours, correspondence, and outreach schedule
  • Develop and maintain a deep knowledge of the Museum and its programs to support grant writing
  • Provide writing support to the individual and government fundraising teams as needed
  • Staff occasional fundraising events, entailing some evening and weekend hours
  • Supervise Institutional Giving Coordinator.

Requirements:

  • Commitment to the Museum’s mission and the ability to articulate its importance to potential funders
  • At least 3 years of grant writing experience with a track record of securing five- and six-figure grants, preferably for educational, cultural, or Jewish organizations
  • Experience creating grant budgets, attachments, and reports that reflect strong attention to detail
  • Excellent project management, grants management, and communications skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage a calendar of grant deadlines
  • Demonstrated willingness to work on a highly collaborative team
  • Proficiency in Altru (or other CRM) and research tools such as Foundation Directory preferred
  • Willingness to work weekends and evenings as necessary
  • Bachelor’s degree required

Position Details:

  • Reports to the Director of Institutional Giving
  • Salary Range $70,000-$80,000 with benefits
  • Full-Time, 40 hours a week with hybrid schedule available after 90 days
