Description
The Ogunquit Museum of American Art (OMAA) seeks an experienced, energetic, and goal-oriented individual to develop and increase OMAA’s community outreach, communication, and donor base during a new phase of transformational growth which will include a comprehensive campaign. The ideal candidate will have a commitment to and excitement about modern & contemporary art. This position is part of the senior management team and reports to the Executive Director and includes working with a small, collaborative, and committed advancement team at the museum. Requirements
Essential Responsibilities:
- Ability to meet fundraising goals totaling over a million dollars a year, working with the Executive Director, staff team, and a board level Advancement Committee;
- Proven success in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gifts $25,000 and above;
- Exceptional presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills, especially writing and speaking effectively;
- Demonstrated success in cultivating and stewarding a growing donor base and working with a board level advancement committee;
- Assist in identifying and cultivating foundation and art related grants, including oversight of grant materials and reports;
- Experience planning and launching a comprehensive campaign, including optimized database management;
- Knowledge of charitable tax laws and key areas of development (major giving, annual appeal, planned giving, and corporate and foundation relations);
- Ability to create a strategic advancement plan and oversee an advancement team, including events;
- Demonstrated ability to provide management, leadership, and implement strategy;
- Regular and dependable work attendance in person M-F, ability to travel for meetings, some weekend work events, and possibility of remote work one day a week;
- Deep understanding of the higher purpose of the arts generally, and ability to share passion and excitement about modern and contemporary art specifically;
Additional Responsibilities:
Provide support across the institution as expected;
