Job Title: Director of Programs

Job Status: Full-time

Location: New York, NY

Salary: $85,000 – $93,000


Village Preservation seeks a highly motivated, organized, and dedicated self-starter to plan and execute the organization’s public programming and special events, to interface with the public. Position reports to the Executive Director, and requires 40+ hrs./week, with occasional weekend and evening work for programs.

Duties include:

• Full-cycle event production from research to post-production for 75+ programs annually, including lectures, panel discussions, book talks, workshops, and tours

• Planning and managing special member events and the organization’s Annual Meeting and Village Awards

• Designing printed and electronic materials, social media, and other materials associated with programs outreach

• Administer events section of organization’s website

• Developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with a broad range of community partners

• Managing oral history project

• Hiring, training, and co-managing Programs and Administrative Assistant and cohort of interns

• Managing volunteer list and coordinating volunteers for organizational projects

• Community engagement, blogging, and other administrative projects

Requirements:

• BA and a strong interest in the educational, research, programming, preservation, and advocacy work of Village Preservation, including historic preservation and the cultural, social, and artistic movements associated with Greenwich Village, the East Village, and NoHo

• A proven track record of planning and hosting successful educational programs for adults

• Strong writing and communications skills

• Demonstrated ability to manage and complete projects in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment with flexibility

• Experience with social media and virtual public engagement

• Experience with website management and design, electronic and printed materials design, and digital video editing are a plus, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suites, Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop and InDesign), WordPress, and mass email communication tools.

• Proficiency in, or demonstrated ability to learn, management of Zoom webinars and other programs, Salesforce, and Linvio Events plugin
