Description
The Jewish Museum seeks an energetic, organized, and proactive thinker to round out our Major Gifts team. This position is primarily responsible for managing the Young Patron Program including stewarding new and existing donors, planning and implementing events, and maintaining consistent communication with program participants. The position also oversees a small number of administrative tasks related to other special interest groups at the Museum including Contemporary Circle and the Patron Program. Creativity, an entrepreneurial spirit, and poise under pressure combined with strong project management and communication skills are critical in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 150 donors and prospects including Young Patrons, Patrons, Contemporary Circle members, and prospects
- Develop and implement fundraising strategies for portfolio including stewarding existing donors and identifying and qualifying new prospects; apply for supplemental foundation support
- Manage all aspects of the Young Patron program including; Young Patron Council, Young Patron Leadership Circle, and the general Young Patron members
- Ideate, plan, and staff a robust calendar of Young Patron events as well as assist with department events on an as needed basis (requires some nights and weekends)
- Work alongside Special Events to manage the After Party Committee for the Purim Ball
- Reach a minimum number of personal meetings and solicitations
- Maintain up-to-date donor files in Salesforce
- Identify prospects for special projects including exhibitions, education initiatives, and the gala; work with other members of the Development team on blended asks
- Possibility of expanded portfolio based on experience
Requirements:
- 2-4 years of direct experience, preferably in an art museum or cultural institution
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to write and speak in clear and compelling ways
- Working knowledge of, or interest in, contemporary art
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- A positive attitude and an entrepreneurial spirit
- Demonstrated willingness to work effectively as part of a team and with all levels of donors
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Adobe Acrobat Pro preferred
- Experience with Salesforce or comparable CRM (preferred)
