JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Donor Stewardship Coordinator works in concert with the Development team to support Winterthur’s relationship with donors. This position provides a wide variety of skilled support for the department.

Compensation: $40,000 – $42,000 annually

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 35 hours/week, occasional weekend/evening work

Responsibilities:

  • Drafts and manages a wide variety of correspondence and written materials, including gift acknowledgments.
  • Manages the Development email account and department phone, fielding all inquiries, distributing to appropriate colleagues, and tracking responses.
  • Serves as the primary liaison between marketing and the department for Development initiated projects.
  • Manages corporate donors benefit fulfillment.
  • Manages and coordinates Individual VIP visits with Museum, Garden & Library counterparts.
  • Responds to inquiries and manages communication with donors and family members for In Honor and In Memory gifts.
  • Completes daily check log for all donations received.
  • Cross trained in gift processing.
  • Works with the Finance division and their systems.
  • Test all onsite transaction avenues for members and donors.
  • Regularly review incoming Membership and Donor transactions through onsite channels, track errors and make changes as needed.
  • Performs a range of complex administrative tasks and assignments as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:Minimum Experience: 

1-2 years of experience in a Development office with college degree; 4+ years of experience without college degree

Preferred Experience: 

Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience in donor relations within a Development office. Knowledge of Tessitura and experience in a museum or cultural institution strongly desired.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong writing, revising, editing, and proofreading skills; demonstrated knowledge of English grammar and usage; attention to detail and accuracy as a proofreader.
  • Ability to adopt established language and style guidelines.
  • Excellent project management skills, including organizing resources, working effectively with colleagues to achieve goals, prioritizing, and advancing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Solid computer skills in a PC environment with the capability to master new software applications and technologies in database management, proficiency with Word and Excel.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, exercise sound professional judgment, and handle multiple complex/confidential tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A sense of humor and a problem-solving mindset.
  • Able to navigate delicate donor relations.

Essential Functions:

  • Must be able to work at a computer for up to 8 hours a day
  • This is an in-person position with minimal virtual meetings.
  • Occasional weekend and evening work is required to support events and visits
