Summary
The position is located in the Architect of the Capitol (AOC), Office of the Chief Executive Officer for Visitor Services, Exhibits and Education Division. The incumbent serves as Exhibit Specialist with primary responsibility for planning, coordination, design, and graphic design of exhibits that present the history of Congress and the Capitol to the public. The incumbent exercises overall project management for exhibits and ensures adherence to design standards and overall audience goals.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Candidates for the GS-11 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal Service. Candidates for the GS-12 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Your resume must demonstrate at least four (4) of the six (6) specialized experiences.
- Planning, organizing, and implementing projects such as displays and exhibits;
- Providing procurement expertise in regard to contracts for services such as museum exhibit work;
- Developing original ideas, designs, concepts, or visual styles for projects such as museum exhibits and graphics that seek to engage and stimulate audience interests;
- Applying processes similar to those for exhibit design and graphic design using current versions of Adobe Creative Suite Software, Microstation, or similar software applications;
- Researching and selecting artifacts, documents, images, and other original objects for display in support of museum exhibits, or similar work.
- Orally presenting information pertaining to work projects and initiatives in a professional setting for awareness and to secure approval from stakeholders.
