Part-Time Sales Associate/Public Engagement Specialist, Newport Historical Society Brick Market Museum and Shop
Succesful candidates will engage in retail and museum docent activities. This includes using and managing an electronic point-of-sale system, helping customers, taking sales, and talking about Newport’s history.
Responsibilities may include assisting the Program Director with managing the NHS’ active walking tour program, which leaves from the Museum and Shop, participating in merchandising, reporting, opening and closing routines, and other duties.
Flexibility with hours and schedule preferred, we need someone able to work on weekends.
Retail experience is required. Experience in the history museum environment is a plus. The ability to climb stairs and lift boxes f stock is required. Current vaccination status for Covid-19 is also required.
