How You Will Contribute

Under the supervision of the Senior Manager of Digital Engagement, the Digital Marketing Coordinator helps tell the museum’s stories. This position will be asked to develop, coordinate, and disseminate engaging content that aligns with the museum’s mission and brand via digital and social media outlets.

Specifically, you will:

  • Manage all aspects of email communications including calendars, scheduling, list management, A/B testing, audience segmentation and database hygiene.
  • Support Senior Manager of Digital Engagement with email building, image sourcing, and reviews/sign offs and attend meetings as required with marketing team and other museum departments as needed.
  • Develop automated customer journeys, maximize knowledge of email platform capabilities, and apply technology to museum workflows to achieve better outcomes and performance from email marketing channels.
  • Work with various museum departments/internal clients to assess their needs of the email communications channel and provide subject matter expertise to help all departments achieve desired outcomes.
  • Maintain an engaging tone of voice for the institutional brand and adapt academic content into fun, audience-focused messaging.
  • Produce relevant and timely digital content that is engaging to a wide range of audiences that mirror the city’s demographics.
  • Ensure that email marketing communications are managed within the project management software system (Airtable) where they will be integrated with other museum channels and provide teams a view into upcoming campaigns in order to deliver assets as needed
  • Prepare analytics reports using Google Analytics, Campaign Monitor, and Sprout Social, and use information to recommend campaign optimization.
  • Assist with administrative duties: processing invoices, credit card allocations, and tracking budgets as related to division activities.
  • Support division-wide content creation by gathering assets and accompanying photographers/videographers.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

As needed:

  • Schedule and post social media content on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest, YouTube, including live coverage of events when needed.
  • Monitor social media platforms and respond as appropriate to comments and questions, while reporting activity to the Senior Manager of Digital Engagement.
  • Support building of pages on PMA Stories, via custom WordPress site.
  • Actively participate in social media committee meetings.

Your background and experience include:

  • Relevant work experience in email communications.
  • Strong project management, writing, proofreading, and communications skills with experience writing for a variety of platforms. .
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Awareness of best practices in digital content across industries.
  • Strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational and time management skills, ability to deal with high volume of work, to multitask, to work at pace, be comfortable with shifting priorities
  • Ability to use digital analytics and email software, adapting and updating skills as necessary.
  • Ability to use initiative and willingness to work as part of a team
  • Sense of humor is a must
  • Keen interest and enthusiasm for the visual arts and an awareness of new developments in marketing, digital platforms, and social media.
  • Willing to work occasional nights and weekends for certain events and postings.
  • Desired software experience: project management tools (i.e. Airtable, Monday, Asana), email platforms (i.e. Campaign Monitor, Constant Contact), Google Analytics. As needed: social media tools (i.e. Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Buffer), WordPress.

Position And Compensation Details

    • The hourly rate for this position is $21.98
    • This position is full-time, non-exempt, and 35 hours per week.
    • This position requires some evening and weekend availability based on events, postings, and other departmental needs
    • This position is part of the AFSCME Local 397 bargaining unit.
    • This position reports to the Senior Manager of Digital Engagement
    • Physical requirements:
      • Able to remain stationary for extended periods of time, to utilize computers and other office equipment required of this job, to perform physically administrative duties in a typical interior office environment, gallery, or exhibit space, and to access most public and staff areas of the museum campus
      • Able to move items up to 10 pounds
      • COVID-19 vaccination required.
      • Background check required after a conditional job offer is made. Consideration of the background check will be tailored to the requirements of the job.
