Digital Media Assistant

Reporting to the Manager of Digital Records, Archives, and Publications and with guidance from the Digital Media Developer, this role will contribute to both the existing and in-development Penn Museum websites in support of the reskin implementation project and ongoing web content needs
This position will involve website tasks such as image cropping and resizing for a new design standard and critical content updates to the live website. Other responsibilities include collaborating on adjusting content to fit new templates and ensuring adherence to style guidelines.
The position will need to know Adobe Photoshop for image manipulation and will write HTML, apply CSS classes, and work mainly in WordPress and Joomla content management systems, competency with Drupal is relevant.
This is a temporary, part-time position for 25 hours per week. Hours are expected to include 2 full workdays during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 9am – 5pm) with Thursdays required. Remaining hours to be completed in half- and/or full-day blocks with flexibility.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- 1-2 years of experience required.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, for efficiently creating and editing images required. Competency with batch actions is preferred.
- Experience in coding HTML/CSS required.
- Experience with major Content Management Systems like Joomla, Drupal, WordPress required. Excellent communication skills and collaborative working style required.
- Proven time management practices and self-motivation required.
