Job Description:
Exceptional Artists Foundation was formed to enable people with disabilities by providing them with the tools, support, and outlet to live a purposeful and happy life by providing them with arts programming and events. We are seeking a highly organized and motivated individual to join our team as a part-time Program Manager. This role will be responsible for organizing events,
including coordinating materials and volunteers, along with identifying and pursuing marketing and fundraising opportunities for the Exceptional Artists Foundation. The ideal candidate will have experience in project management, event planning, grant writing and an interest in the arts, working with populations with disabilities and non-profit work. This role works closely with the organization’s co-founders to frame and execute various events along with marketing and fundraising strategy over the course of the year. It is highly preferred that whoever assumes this
rule remains in place for a one year commitment.
Responsibilities:
● Coordinating and organizing events for the organization, including but not limited to, planning with organization principals, tracking expenses and budgeting for art event materials, communicating with volunteers and execution of events with programming partners
● Managing materials for events, including working with teaching artist volunteers to order supplies according to shopping lists for our annual Art Experience and other art making events
● Managing email marketing and social media channels to ensure organization visibility and messaging aligns with vision
● Communicating with stakeholders to ensure marketing, fundraising and programming goals are met
● Pursuing fundraising opportunities at the local, state and federal level
● Keeping accurate and up-to-date records of event and material expenses and revenues
● Writing grant proposals and managing grant-related tasks and fundraising opportunities through individuals and philanthropists, including our end of year annual appeal
● Communicating with donors and supporters through email and social media
● Managing project timelines and ensuring all deadlines are met
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience in project management and event planning
2. Experience in grant writing a plus
3. Experience working with non-profit organizations and/or the arts is a plus
4. Experience working and/or volunteering with populations with disabilities a plus
5. Knowledge of messaging around disability advocacy and/or willingness to learn
6. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
7. Helpful if fluent in Mailchimp or Constant Contact, Google Suite, social media
management.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
9. Experience with email and social media communication
10. Knowledge of fundraising opportunities for art nonprofits in the NYC metro area
11. Ability to work independently and in a team environment
12. Strong proficiency in GSuite and Google Drive
13. Ability to work well under pressure during events
14. Those pursuing an MA in Art History or Arts Administration and/or an MFA in Fine Art or Studio Art with a background in project management are encouraged to apply.
