The National Museum of Wildlife Art offers two internship opportunities for individuals interested in gaining better knowledge and hands-on experience in museum studies.

We are currently accepting applications for two different summer internships. The Lillian Thomason Gemar Education Internship and the McGree Curatorial Internship.

Applicants are welcome to apply for both the Education Internship and the Curatorial Internship. If you wish to apply for both, this will require two separate applications to the appropriate contact person.

Education Internship

$7,200 stipend for a 12-week internship, plus up to an additional $3,600 housing allowance for the full 12 weeks if from out of town. Please note that taxes will be deducted from both the internship stipend and housing allowance.

A challenging internship for Summer 2023 for a graduate-level student interested in the field of museum education. The internship focuses on education and exhibits interpretation, including teaching, management of the Education exhibit: (re)imagining Conservation, upkeep of gallery interactive elements, audience engagement, audience assessment, as well as a self-selected project. Applicants with experience in art education, informal teaching, and public programming are encouraged to apply. Prior experience with exhibit assessment is a plus.

Curatorial Internship

The Curatorial Internship is offered to a graduate-level student who will gain qualitative experience in preparation for a future career in museums or an art-related field. The internship is focused on curatorial projects and provides hands-on museum experience while providing support to the curatorial department. Previous projects have included research, writing, exhibit planning, and exhibit assessment.
